The Creative Process

 

The best thing about being a costume designer is bringing characters to life.  I enjoy the entire process from the spark of an idea, to sketching, planning my construction methods and finally, bringing the creation to fruition.

 

The following is a collection of some of my favorite pieces - step by step.  Some began as recreations of work done by designers that I admire, such as my Charles James "Clover" dress independent study.  Some were ideas that began as "what if's" by clients, such as the "Cage Dress" for Trixie Mattel.  

 

The albums show my range of creativity, technique, ability to manipulate materials, pattern making and draping skills and attention to detail.
